Concurrent Session 1: U.S. Federal Policy Updates and Discussion
Join APBP's Policy Specialist Caron Whitaker and Dr. Alex Karner for a combined session focused on US Federal Policy – including policy updates, discussion with congressional staff, and prompted breakout group discussions. Participants will leave with ideas and tools for advocacy and adaptation.

Concurrent Session 2: Generations on the Move: Supporting Pedestrians and Cyclists of All Ages

Join the Oakland Department of Transportation and the Washington State Department of Transportation in this combined session which will explore how state and local agencies, advocates, and communities can collaborate more effectively to deliver safe, inclusive walking and biking projects.

Concurrent Session 4: From Pedals to Power: Micromobility Guidance and Research
In May 2025, New Jersey became the first state to release a comprehensive micromobility guide that consolidates legal information into a user-friendly format. In this session, Dr. Hannah Younes and Greg Woltman, AICP of Rutgers University will provide an overview of the guide which serves as a model that other states can adapt to their specific legal contexts. Dr. Younes will also present research conducted in Asbury Park, NJ, where traffic camera footage was analyzed to study the behavior of over 700 riders and the impact of bike lanes on over 9,000 motor vehicles.

Together, participants will reimagine what inclusive mobility really means and generate actionable ideas for making urban infrastructure work better for everyone—not just the most visible users.
