APBP recently signed on to a letter to the Canadian Council of Ministers Responsible for Transportation and Highway Safety requesting follow-up to a recent report on active transportation. The request is a joint effort of Velo Canada Bikes, Green Communities Canada, and Active School Travel Canada.
The October 2018 report, "Active Transportation: A Survey of Policies, Programs and Experience," prepared by the Council’s Transportation and Environment Task Force, identifies a number of implementing initiatives that will help make Canada a global leader in walking, cycling, and other forms of active transportation.
As one of the 23 organizations who served as signatories, APBP expresses its’ support to make Canada a great place for every day walking, biking and other forms of active transportation. The meeting request would serve to discuss Transport Canada’s plans to move forward in implementing the findings of the report.
