Pittsburgh's EcoInnovation District: Helping Residents Shape Outcomes

*in partnership with Rail~Volution

In Pittsburgh, the city and the transit agency launched a plan for a BRT line to connect the region’s two largest economic centers to its transit ridership base. The plan included great stuff: stations with pedestrian and bicycling amenities, smart parking management & more. In this free webinar presented in cooperation with Rail~Volution, learn how the city put plans on hold to ensure residents' concerns and vision for their community shaped the plans. Hear about the EcoInnovation District Plan, a hands-on, bottom-up planning process for helping residents influence overall outcomes and strategies around technology, equity and sustainability. Explore outreach strategies. Find out how plan objectives impacted policies and procedures, including street design, the quality of public spaces, as well as zoning and parking requirements.
