Register today for APBP's monthly webinar on Performance Measures to Evaluate Street Design - New and Established Practices.

The presenter is Peter Koonce, City of Portland Bureau of Transportation.

This webinar explores performance measures used in all contexts (urban, suburban, rural) and how traditional analysis practices are biased against walking and bicycling. Three case studies highlight the applicability of these measures and provide examples for how the measure was communicated to the public.

Catch up with the Southern California chapter! Here’s what they’ve been up to lately:

• Hosted a Quarterly Speakers Series where a group of active transportation professionals went on project tours with City officials.
• Held regional happy hours to network with professionals, advocates and students across our wide geography.
• Upcoming events include visiting universities in the region, trips to Orange County and begin planning for 2017!

We are actively looking for chapter leaders to help plan events and expand our chapter, so let us know if you're interested!

APBP posted slides from the July 12 U.S. Federal Policy Briefing. Speakers: Caron Whitaker, Policy Director of the League of American Bicyclists and Dan Goodman, Federal Highway Administration Livability Team.  Hosts: APBP, the League and the Alliance for Biking & Walking.

Caron covered U.S. performance measures, budget, and what’s next. Dan highlighted FHWA’s updated guidance and new publications on walking and bicycling.
Your experience counts! Take a “future policy” survey posted today by APBP and the League on applying the FAST Act and making local progress in walking and bicycling.
