Half of all Oklahomans live outside a metropolitan area.
For 2015 the OK Bike Summit comes to small town Oklahoma.
We focus on how bicycling benefits the social fabric, health, economy,
and lives of all Oklahoma citizens and their communities.

At the two day bicycle conference the focus is on bicycling and its benefit for Oklahoma. Sessions are presented for transportation, planning, and healthcare professionals, and allied disciplines. Drawing from the expertise found in our universities, city and state agencies, and bicycle advocates, the best practices found in Oklahoma will be shared with all communities. Featured speaker Elly Blue, author of Bikenomics, will lead us through the economic and health benefits of bicycle facility development.

Speakers and panels will offer sessions on tourism; bicycle skills, education and safety; bicyclists rights; bicycling as part of an active, healthy lifestyle; and advocacy for more bicycle planning and access. Speakers include author Elly Blue, OSU Chief Wellness Officer Dr Suzy Harrington, and Jessica Scott, ODOT’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Coordinator. OSU Police Officer Shaun Gibson will talk about training law enforcement to use bicycles as effective patrol vehicles and their value in community based policing. An optional Bicycle Friendly Stillwater Bike Tour of Stillwater’s bicycle facilities will be led by Stillwater Transportation Manager Jason Peek.

The Oklahoma Bike Summit is a 501c3 non-profit. Applicaiton has been made for AICP Certification Maintenance credits for this conference.
